This is the second in our series of Qur‘anic “Rabbana…” duas (the first is here). This one is one of the most well-known Qur'anic duas, one that all of our families could use a reminder to say it. Regarding the composition, vertical one are quite difficult to put together due to the horizontal nature of Arabic script. Even harder is to match two compositions to fit in exactly the same exact size using the same size qalam (reed) calligraphy pen, which makes these particular calligraphy pieces even more stunning when placed in the same home. Their vertical orientation also allows them to be placed in many locations, such as pillers, doors, to the side of doors or windows, hallways, etc. The optional translations also designed to match perfectly.
Wording: رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ
Translation: Our Lord! Give to us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and guard us from the torment of the hell fire. {Quran 2:201}.
Transliteration: Rabbana atina fi al-dunya hasanat, wa fi al-akhirati hasanah, wa qina ‘adhaba al-nar.
